The Inner and Outer Self: Jyotish and the Moving Zodiac

You could say that the zodiac of Jyotish shows a person’s inner essence, while the Western (moving) zodiac reflects their outward expression.

It’s no coincidence that two figures who shaped the course of the 20th century — Lenin and Hitler — were born almost on the same day: 20 and 22 April, but in different years.

From the perspective of the moving zodiac (Western astrology), their Sun was in Taurus.

But according to Jyotish, their Sun was actually in the 10th degree of Aries — the degree of exaltation, where the Sun is at its greatest strength and power.

Such a position indicates an exceptional personality:

🔥 Strong leadership and organisational skills

🔥 Determination, warrior-like energy

🔥 A thirst for power and a drive for dominance.

According to the Vedas, the material world follows the law of correspondence: material reality is simply a reflection of consciousness.

So when human consciousness degrades and spirituality fades, even the Earth’s position in the universe shifts.

But in time, balance and harmony return.

This eternal rhythm of the cosmos is described in the Vedas as the “theory of Yugas” — great cosmic epochs.

Jyotish is a timeless astrology — fixed and rooted in cosmic law.

Western astrology, based on the moving zodiac, is linked to these shifting projections of the stars and arises specifically in the current age — Kali Yuga.

Yet, both systems have value.

Neither diminishes the other — they simply offer different perspectives on the same person.

Like looking at someone face-on or in profile — it’s still the same unique individual, with their own destiny and singular nature.
