The Origins of the Vedas

The Vedas are regarded as sacred texts with a divine origin.

According to the Vedas themselves, they were compiled and organised over 5,000 years ago by Vyasa Deva, a sage considered an incarnation of the Supreme God.

The Vedas describe God as a beautiful, loving, perfect Person.

They even reveal His name: Krishna — which means “All-Attractive” and “Beautiful”.

In the Bhagavad Gita, the core philosophical text of the Vedas, Krishna is described this way:

His beauty is so perfect and beyond compare that even a single atom of it could flood the entire universe. That’s why all living beings are irresistibly drawn to Him.” (10.11)

The Vedas as Divine Revelation

The Vedas are not human speculation — they’re described as a flow of divine knowledge descending from Absolute Truth itself.

Krishna declares in the Bhagavad Gita:

“I am the Vedas. I am the essence of all knowledge.”

Two Ways of Knowing

The Vedas explain that there are two paths to knowledge:

The ascending path, where we try to learn through observation, analysis, and reasoning. But the Vedas recognise this path as limitedour senses are imperfect, and even our minds can be flawed. “To err is human,” the Vedas remind us.

The descending path, where perfect knowledge is received from beyond this world — through teachers (gurus), sacred texts (shastras), and the company of wise souls (sādhu-saṅga). Because this knowledge comes from an all-knowing source, it’s described as absolute, unlike human knowledge, which is always relative and incomplete.

Vedic astrology is a timeless system — not just because it’s fascinating, but because it gives us tools for understanding ourselves, our emotions, and our place in this vast universe.

Whether you’re curious about astrology, Vedic wisdom, or simply seeking deeper meaning in life, these teachings remind us that we’re part of something far greater — a cosmic story woven from beauty, knowledge and love.
