🏡 Dvadashamsha (D12): The Chart of Parental Karma

In Vedic astrology, the Dvadashamsha chart is analysed when seeking insight into matters related to one’s parents. This divisional chart reveals deep karmic ties, shedding light on themes such as:

The lifespan and health of one’s mother and father Their life circumstances or occupations Possibility of separation or divorce Inherited family karma and patterns

🔸 How It’s Calculated

Dvadashamsha means “twelfth part.” To construct the D12 chart, each zodiac sign is divided into 12 equal parts, or amshas, of 2°30′ (2.5°) each.

If a planet is in a particular sign, its first 2.5 degrees fall under the same sign in the D12 chart. The rest of the 12 amshas proceed in natural zodiacal order from there.

For example:

If the Moon is at 6° Aries in the birth chart, it would fall into the third amsha of Aries in the D12 chart, which corresponds to Gemini.

This chart is especially valuable when questions arise about ancestral roots, parental blessings, or emotional inheritance. It’s like peering into the soul contract between you and your parents — past, present, and possibly future.
