Here’s a concept unique to Jyotish: A planet’s nature (good or bad) depends on your Ascendant.

This is not considered in Western astrology—but it’s crucial in Vedic timing.

General Rule of Thumb:

✅ Favourable planets = lords of Trikona (1st, 5th, 9th) and Kendra (1st, 4th, 7th, 10th) houses

❌ Unfavourable planets = lords of Dusthana houses (6th, 8th, 12th) or 3rd and 11th

🔍 Examples:

Venus is auspicious for Gemini (Mithuna) Lagna – she rules the 5th house (creativity, luck) But Venus is inauspicious for Cancer (Karka) Lagna – she rules the 11th house (ambition, gain) For Scorpio (Vrishchika) Lagna: ✅ Good planets = Mars, Moon, Jupiter, Sun Why? Because the Sun rules a Kendra house (10th house – career)
