For a kitchen witch, ordinary kitchen utensils are her magic tools. Her athame is a kitchen knife. A wooden spoon is a magic wand. Every appliance in the kitchen becomes magical when dedicated to the art of kitchen wizardry. Each saucepan is perceived as a magic cauldron. The kettle brews herbal potions. The oven transforms ingredients into magical food. Cleanse and consecrate all your kitchen tools that you plan to use in your magic.

Never use pans borrowed from someone else, not only does your food not turn out as good, but you may experienced the worst disasters. I won’t take that chance with food. I definitely will never take that chance with magic!

Kitchen altar

A witch’s kitchen usually has a magical kitchen altar. It can be on the kitchen table, on a shelf or anywhere else. Candles, offerings and figurines can be placed on the kitchen altar. It can be anything from vintage figurines to miniature cauldrons and interestingly patterned teacups used as candle holders! Make your kitchen altar a space for kitchen gods and spirits and a daily reminder of your unique practice.

Kitchen Grimoire – Book of Shadows

Every witch has a grimoire or Book of Shadows.

A kitchen witch’s grimoire may differ slightly from a regular Book of Shadows. It will feature family recipes, herbal knowledge and kitchen magic on its pages. A kitchen grimoire can be a recipe book, a large hardcover notebook, or a scrapbook.
