Using aromatherapy to balance each of the 7 chakras

“Chakra”, the Sanskrit word for “wheel”, refers to seven concentrations of energy emanating from the body. Each of these Chakra centers have their own expression of emotional and spiritual energy, but each is linked and in tune with all the others. 

The practice of aromatherapy helps to balanced chakra functioning. 

Muladhara root chakra is located at the base of the spine. This is the root chakra, which is responsible for how firmly we stand on the earth, and how we function in the material world to satisfy our physical needs.

Nutmeg oil activates a weak root chakra, while patchouli and vetiver calm an over active one. To keep root chakra in balance we can use essential oil such as basil, thyme and bergamot to help maintain a smoothly functioning root chakra.

A foot massage is a great way to safeguard the root chakra. As a result, you will feel sense of groundedness and stability and emotional fulfillment.

swadhisthana Sacral Chakra determines the sexual life, satisfaction with it, the ability to give in. At the body level, orange chakra is responsible for the functioning of the channels of the large and small intestines, bladder, reproductive organs, appendix, sacral and lumbar spine. Her energy gives the joy of life, creativity, and pleasure.

Sensory, erotic and warm essential oils, – such as jasmine, clary sage, ylang-ylang, are necessary for the activation of orange chakra.

The sacral chakra, which influences your sensuality, benefits from a lower back massage. Spicy cardamom essential oil awakens a dormant sacral chakra, while ylang ylang and neroli calm an over active orange chakra.

Look to sweet orange and sandalwood to maintain a well functioning sacral chakra.

MANIPURA Solar Plexus Chakra

is located at the level of the solar plexus. It determines the strength of a character, the ability to love oneself, believe in oneself and control the situation. The development of the chakra is associated with the development of strength and wisdom. At the physical level, yellow chakra is responsible for the work of the stomach, channels of the liver, pancreas, gall bladder, spleen, adrenal gland and duodenum. Essential oils that have a cleansing and balancing effect, such as juniper, tea tree, fennel, orange, are suitable to balance the yellow chakra.

A gentle tummy massage awakens the functioning of the yellow chakra and wakes up your gut instincts.

Apply eucalyptus and juniper berry to acitvate the solar plexus, and vetiver or helichrysum to calm her down. grapefruit and lemon oils help to balance the chakra.

Anahata Heart Chakra is located at a heart level. The heart chakra is responsible for the harmonious coexistence of the body, the ability to love, if it is strong, you can easily express love towards people around you. At the level of the body, it regulates the work of the heart channel, blood circulation, all organs of the chest. All essential oils that are associated with love are suitable, it can be ylang-ylang, rose, or geranium.

The emotional center that is the heart chakra readily benefits from a supportive perfumed annointing oil applied to the breast bone or massage into the middle back area.

Palmarossa essential oil will open the heart chakra, while lavender and sweet marjoram will quiet it down. Regular applications of geranium essential oils will help to maintain a well functioning heart chakra.

Throat chakra VISHUDDHA, or the blue chakra is located at the level of the throat. At the physical level, blue chakra is responsible for the oral cavity, vocal cords, trachea, thyroid gland and lymph nodes.

Turn to lemon essential oil to open a sluggish throat chakra, and vanilla or Roman chamomile to calm. Coriander seed is a balancing oil to maintain the even expression of the throat chakra.

Oils that promote self-expression and self-realization are suitable for blue chakra. It can be cool flavors such as lemon balm, lemon, rosemary and jasmine.

Third Eye Chakra

AJNA, or the dark blue chakra is located in the middle of the forehead above the eyebrows, just above the bridge of the nose, and is often called the “third eye.” The “third eye” is associated with intuition, wisdom, focus on the inner spiritual development of the conscious aspect of creativity. At the physical level, it coordinates the work of the pineal gland (pineal gland) and the pituitary, spinal cord, eyes, ears, nose and canals of the brain.

The visionary, awareness supporting third eye chakra can be influenced with an anointing oil applied to the forehead or through simple diffusion and inhalation.

Rosemary essential oil will open a sleeping third eye chakra, while German chamomile will stabilize and focus this visionary chakra.

Frankincense or sandalwood are good choices to maintain a clear and balanced third eye chakra.

Essential oils of rosemary, juniper, thyme, eucalyptus, lemon, peppermint are suitable to balance the third eye chakra.

Crown Chakra

or SAHASRARA PADMA, a purple chakra is located above the crown of the head, in the center of the cap of the skull. The vertebral chakra receives the energy of the cosmos, feeding other chakras, controlling the subtle processes of interaction of all the energy centers of the body. It determines the ability of a person to the highest insight and consciousness, a spiritual search, the desire for enlightenment, combines the physical, mental, spiritual nature of man. On the physical, the crown chakra corresponds to the cerebral cortex and the nervous system.

For crown chakra harmonization, it requires “wise” and at the same time soothing aromas, such as lavender, geranium, sandalwood, clary sage.

A room diffusion applied to the airspace around you is the best way to balance the transcendent crown chakra which occupies the space above the crown of your head. Spicy sweet lavandin clarifies a low functioning crown chakra, while neroli or vanilla calm. Look to frankincense to maintain a well functioning crown chakra.
